Cannes is well known all over the world for the glamorous Cannes Film festival. It used to be a small fishing village, but that’s no longer the scenario. Today it’s a shiny, expensive town. One of the most social places to be in Europe.
The town is in its true colors once the month of May arrives as that’s when the CFF begins.
Fans from Europe and all over the world arrive in the city to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrities, directors, and actors.
Prominent personalities related to Film, Television, Arts, Literature are invited to this prestigious festival can be seen on the famous steps of the Palais des Festivals at the end of La Croisette.
All this leads to an extravagant nightlife and casinos full of rich players. Restaurants and Hotels are top-notch which give the city an exotic feel. You will find entertainment and stay options for every budget in here. Le Suquet is an architectural beauty, with cobbled streets and breathtaking views of the sea. You can calmly sit on a street side table and enjoy a cup of coffee with some munchies and enjoy the beautiful view of boats and yachts lined up along the blue dock with seagulls flying over.
Since it’s a city visited by world-renowned celebrities, you will find some of the best boutiques in here. Shops are mostly located in the area of La Croisette and rue d’Antibes which we would recommend traveling to on foot. Fashion brands like Versace, Chanel, Dior, and Gucci and many other International designers have shops lined up at La Croisette. You will get all the luxury goods here sold of by posh boutiques. There are also shops that sell products at low price range as well. You can buy a souvenir for yourself by visiting the old are of the town.
Eating can be a bit heavy on pocket although it is possible to get sumptuous food at reasonable prices as well.
All the well-known restaurants are along the riverfront. The food there is fine.
